Jake-Ann Jones started her career off to a flying start playing a hooker in Spike Lee’s Malcolm X. After a five-year hiatus, she made a non-descript return to film in 1997’s Norma’s Lament, although I don’t think anyone noticed. Her only other role, in Naked Acts, also happened to be her most Skin-ful. In it, she plays a woman who is trying to come to grips with a load of problems from her past by appearing nude on film. It seems like a good excuse to have a lot of nudity in a movie, although there isn’t nearly enough to satisfy my tastes. The scenes that do feature her nude are long, yet distant and dark, with the young actress completely in the buff. Since Naked Acts, though, she has disappeared from the public eye, and doesn’t seem like she will be returning anytime soon.
